at this tutorial we will learn how to make quite cute icon with sean patrick flanery. we go from this (x) to this (x). it's isn't that hard, you'll see :)

1. at the beginning sharp the image (filters > sharpen > sharp more).
2. duplicate the base, desaturate it, set into 'soft light' (17%) and move it a bit to the right (result)
3. duplicate the base, drag it on top and set it into 'screen' 50% (result)
4. go to layer > new adjustment layer > selective colour:
reds:
cyan -100%
magenta +100%
yellow +100%
black +100%
yellows:
cyan -100%
magenta +100%
yellow +100%
black -100%
neutrals:
cyan +75%
magenta -10%
yellow -10% and click 'ok' (result)
5. again, go to layer > new adjustment layer > selective colour:
reds:
cyan -100%
magenta +100%
yellow +100%
yellows:
cyan -100%
magenta +100%
yellow +100%
black -100%
neutrals:
cyan +9%
magenta -1% and click 'ok' (result)
6. create new layer, on it paint with soft brush (size 100, for example) in colour #FF0030 a dot. i mean just take that brush and click once on the image ;) and set it into 'lighten' 100% (result)
7. on new layer play around with some text brush, it can be like mine (though i don't remember from where i got it) or else. it's up to you :) (result)
8. you're done :)
